DIRECTOR OF MUSIC - BARBARA BANCROFT

After graduating from Leeds University, Barbara took up teaching posts in Wakefield and later in Leeds and Bradford, where she worked as a Head of Music. She has been a member of several Chamber Choirs in West Yorkshire both as a singer and as an accompanist, and has sung with the Aire Valley Singers since succeeding David Bryan at Salt Grammar School. She is now working in Calderdale and is also conductor of Paddock Orchestra in Huddersfield.

DOREEN ANDERSON

In December 2009 Doreen Anderson stepped down as Director of Music and ended a long association with the Aire Valley Singers. She has made an immeasurable contribution to the choir and will be greatly missed by singers and audience alike. We hope that she will remain associated with us in other capacities. She is succeeded by her Assistant Director of Music, Barbara Bancroft.
